Do As I Say, Not As I Do

Developing Real World Leadership Skills

Leadership is not easy, not least because we tend to have it given to us with very little preparation, training or support from a positive role model. And then we have so little time to reflect and work upon this new skill area as we concentrate on coping with day-to-day issues. This course gives participants the chance to think about what works and doesn’t work when it comes to their leadership style and that of those around them. Practical tasks allow individuals to discover what their true leadership style is like in practice and under pressure. Areas covered include:

  • Identifying your natural leadership style
  • Understanding how others react to this style
  • Discovering alternatives to “power”, “control” and “telling”
  • Learning to delegate and motivate
  • Developing inner and outer confidence
  • Building strategies to cope with politics and hierarchy
